The Proposal

Pretending to be the fiance of someone you really hate is really stressful! No guy would dream of ending up with a witch, but with Andrew and Margaret, thing went well for them...in the end.

It is a romantic comedy that makes one laugh all the time. Me and my mom really enjoyed this amidst an almost empty theater. So nice to be able to laugh aloud.

It also showed how family is still important, even in the most independence-oriented country in the world. Nothing beats familial relations.

Well it wasn't my ultimate fave, but I didn't hate it either. I'm glad my time wasn't wasted to watch this movie.

Boku Wa Imouto Ni Koi Wo Suru

If it's Matsujun, I need to watch it! No matter what kind of movie it is!!!!

Well at first thought, the plot of this movie was really unusual and had a sensitive nature to it. How would you respond if fraternal twins fall in love with each other? I wouldn't feel easy about it! It is so unusual and doesn't feel right in terms of societal standards. I dunno how brothers and sisters wold responds to that. Maybe YUCK? Something like that.

But the twins in this movie really fell for each other. Never did I think that it might be possible. Is it really possible? I dunno. I thought there would something in our genes that won't allow it. Probably societal standards only, but still if I'm not mistaken during the old times it ws okay to marry a relative because they wanted to keep the wealth of the family within their line.

Some scenes did not agree with me because I'm a Matsujun fan!! But oh well...it's part of his acting! Haha! We'll do the real thing. JOKE!!!!

It was hard between twins...I just thought..."They're just acting!" In the end I also sympathized with them. So sad! Huhu!

HONEY AND CLOVER

The main reason I eagerly wanted to watch this movie was because of Sho sakurai! Wohoo!!! I really love him from Arashi!!! This is my first time seeing him do some acting, aside from doing his hot rap parts from their Arashi songs.

Okay, of course he wasn't the only main character(and I forgot the names already! Ugh! I'm aging!!!! I only remember Takemoto, hehe.). It revolved around the stories of art students who experienced life's gift of love and hurt.

I sysmpathized so much with Takemoto-san because he really loved Hagu. I wanted him to be with Hagu. Too bad, hagu seemed to like the other guy (what was his name again? LOL). The end seemed open-ended though. takemoto confessed his love and Hagu just said "Arigatou!" and now what? Fast forward, we don't really know. So basically it may be a yes or no. LOL.

I am so sure lots of things were left out since this was based on an anime (which had like 26 episodes?) and I have to watch the live action version (with Toma Ikuta-kun!!!!!!!!). I can't wait! I really loved how they were as art students. They looked cool. I wish I was an art student too. Huhu.

I also loved the song of Arashi, Aozora Pedal thanks to this movie! Weeeeehhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE

I'm so happy I almost forgot all the details of the book before I got to see this movie. But I wasn't really excited about it unlike the previous movies. I'm probably aging...that's why. Well it helped me to feel less disappointed with the movie. But I became disappointed about it after I started to dig up some infos from the book. Drats.

As usual it was so fast-paced and even people who haven't read the book noticed that. Could this be the worst movie out of the saga? I couldn't tell but it had its share of positive points. It was balanced when it comes to having both comical and tragic moments. It seemed the cast were more relaxed now (duh, it has been like 10 years already for them) and had other kinds of acting to do especially in the love department.

The never-ending argument about scenes that were cut will never cease with movies that were based from books. It will always be the same problem. No movie will come out perfect if it was based from a book. NEVER.

My only concern was the last scene. The battle at Hogwarts was so dry. I imagined it to be grand when I read the book. Hope they do something about it when it comes to Movie 7. Good luck.

The movie made me want to read the book again because my brain has so many holes about it now. But again, I'm too lazy to read the book again. Hehe.

I'll still watch Movie 7 parts 1 and 2. Wohoo!!!!!

Romantic Island

I'm glad Korean cinema decided to shoot a movie like this. It was as if my country was so beautiful in their eyes. Well it is for places like Boracay and such. I'm just glad it captured their hearts. Since we are addicted to their pop culture, and I'm glad in exchange they love our beaches. Whenever I travel for domestic places I always see Korean tourists! There has been really a big number of them touring our shores.

Okay okay, going to the movie...it is basically a story of three couples each having their own way but having the same setting in Boracay. Two couples started out as strangers that then became lovers, while the last pair is a married couple who refreshes their love for eachother.

It is nice to know that such a setting can make a difference for people. No wonder it was called Romantic Island due to the clear ocean water, crisp blue sky and pearly white sand.

The twist in the end was quite intriguing, the part when the clock struck at 12. Haha!

The story was really light, except for the one who wanted to kill himself. I am truly biased because it was shot here. I can't say that it was something different than other stories because you had the star-meets-ordinary-man theme, boss-meets-perky-girl theme, and the I-want-to-die or I-want-to-run-away sort of thing. They had to compress it all in one movie, and it was engaging in its own way.

I just want to complain about the Filipino song used. Why choose "Ocho-ocho" to have Korean exposure? there are so many other songs!!!!! Oh I get it. They wanted a danceable song, and our dance songs here are only the corny ones. They wanted a song that was close to Kpop. So sorry that we don't have good songs close to Kpop. The best OPM songs out here are from bands, divas and balladeers. Okay. Fine.

IGOR

It seemed like a parody of those old movies with evil scientists, especially Frankenstein. You have the usual hunchbacked people assisting those evil scientists especially when the time comes to pull the switch. Wahahahaha!

This time, it is the hunchback who gets to be the protagonist for dreaming to become a mad scientist himself. He does get his chance and he even invents a female version of Frankentstein. However, there isn't any percentage of evil in her. She turns to be a well-mannered...errr.monster? Hehe!

It also stresses the relationship between the inventor and his creation. It turned out to be much deeper than that. Hehe! Awwwww!!!

I wasn't really hooked on it, but it is one of those movies like Tim Burton's...gloomy but happy. Hehe!

INKHEART

It sounded like "Bedtime Stories", but I am still not sure if there really is a similarity other than book characters coming to life.

But this movie was worth watching. I'm glad we watched this instead of "Marley and Me" because I did not want to feel so sad. Haha!

All the characters were interesting and the complicated plot was suspenseful enough to keep me hooked. Although there were still some things needed to be polished.

Example the role of the great-aunt and the thief from Arabia seemed unnecessary in the story. Although they helped, but they just seemed fillers. Or maybe this movie was based on a book, that is why it had some missing links. The other guy with a hat (Darius or what?) seemed that he had the gift like Silvertongue, but where did he come from?

It would have been more challenging if the wife was still in the book. It was obvious that making her outside the book again, just made it easier for the protagonists to find her. It would have been nie to see how they can pull out a missing person from there.

I also thought it was hard to place back a character in the book, but it seemed easy in the end.

It is just unbelievable how on eart Maggie learned to read if she didn't try reading out loud (maybe the power was not developed yet). Oh well.

So much flaws but still it was way okay than other movies. Kudos also to Andy Serkis!!!! Gollum!!!! ^_^

TWILIGHT

After so many hesitations, I decided to try to give this movie a shot. I had to watch it since I was reading NEW MOON and I got so bored with it. I was finding a way to perk me up with it.

Omo, the movie sucked big time! Sorry to the fans, but I hated everything about it except the actors who portrayed as the Cullens.

The acting was so gloomy abd dry. Bella was lifeless. I assumed she would be someone who could at least smiled. Her friends at school had more life than her. The plot was so distorted. I don't know how it looked with someone who did not read the book, but for me it was so hurried and chopped. Ewwwww! Sorry but I hated the OST too or maybe because I'm so biased with Asian OSTs that have more love and life with it. Oh well, forgive me.

So, felt more disappointed with it. I can still bear the book at least. But don't include me with those people who are gaga over it. I'm just glad I'm not conforming with the craze but stupid me for buying all the books in a rush. LOL!

Cuteness overload! The main stars of this movie made me sigh everytime they moved. Their names were so cute too. There's Rosebud, Buddha, ______, _____, _____. Sorry I forgot the others!

The storyline was cute too. Dogs going outerspace! Woohoo!!! My most favorite part was when they formed a horizontal line and marched to the aircraft from the building. That was so cool! They looked like read astronauts, only cuter!! It was just stupid that nobody noticed them running to the aircraft. LOL.

The other cute part was when they walked on the moon! Haha! When I heard Astro saying "The dogs are walking on the moon!"...something like that, I had a good laugh with it.

The story may be simple with its own complications but I did enjoy the cuteness of the doggies! Hihi!

THE PIRATES WHO DON'T DO ANYTHING (VEGGIE TALES)

So this is where the song came from ("We are the pirates who don't do anything...), a song I heard from a fanvid for One Piece before.

Since I love pirates and cute animation...I tried to give this flick a shot. I did see a dvd of Veggie Tales from my cousin's collection, so I assumed this was a cool movie.

Yeah, the characters are vegetables who act as pirates. How queer but it was so cute! I loved the odd way of their movement. They hop and don't have hands but they can partake in action. Hihi!

About the story, it is a typical children's story. You have regular cabin boys who were called on to become unusual heroes. It wa slike a losers to winners story.

The visuals were a treat for me. The bright colors made me happy eventhough the story was just simple. I didn't mind the oddness at all. Kids would love it, I'm sure of it!
