Okay, so after months of denying the effects of the global financial crisis in the Philippines or claiming that we will be resilient to it. The government finally admitted it yesterday, encouraging pinoys to save their money for the rainy days but don't go all out and avoid spending altogether.

In short, kilalang kilala ang pinoy. Maybe that's why they waited until after the holidays before saying it? Giving the pinoys a long holiday break also helped them spend more on vacations, eating out, shopping and other things.

Pero, part of me was laughing because of the past interviews. The philippines will not be hit by the US economic crisis. Riiiight. It was pitiful if they really believed that.

The sad thing is, many people are losing their jobs. People with families, with kids to feed and to send to school, with houses and cars to pay for, etc.

I'm happy for those who happened to hold onto their jobs, or better yet, get a job. That's a real blessing.

This is gonna be a test of faith. *sigh.

First off, I already got my first paycheck. so whee! My atm card is somewhere though, lost in transition.

Second, been listening to a lot of silverchair, nirvana lately. I tried to watch new MTVs lately, and some of them did not give me the same hype I usually get listening to the classics. It's either, my music is getting broader, or I'm developing a keener ear towards some lyrics that secular songs have.

I want to buy another book! I'm thinking of buying elizabeth George's women of the bible. I'm almost done with one of her study guides (AFTER forever). but part of me wants to buy Philip Yancey's book on prayer.

I used to be soo soo happy with inventory sales, considering my big feet usually had a lot of shoe options since most pinoys have small feet, like 6 or 7. Why is it that every store i go to have sold out 8 and 9s? This is bad. haha. I ended up buying a boot inspired shoe that is still black. So much for increasing my color options haha. And i want that violet kamiseta jacket, although i know i prolly need khaki or white for the office. :P

Some part of me is tired. I want to play volleyball, but on account of my forgetfulness with medicine, i think right now, im actually feeling the effect of the pagod and the no medicine thing.

This entry feels so wonderfully random, it's embarassing.

Future politician, Future NGO lady, Future agent of change and moi have all shared our hopes and dreams about our country. I know that a lot of people expect us to go to another country and find jobs there. Jobs that will pay more. Jobs that will increase our opportunities. But we were talking about fulfillment. I'm not closing the door on where God might lead me, but I really feel a love for my country. I feel hope for it. I'm not part of the group that espouses "ang pinoy ay laging bida" kahit saan, especially how media presents it nowadays.

But wala lang, Taking those history classes helped a lot. I want all the pinoys to get to know their history, and really see how to learn from it. It doesn't matter if we're rich, or if we migrated, or if we have to struggle to make ends meet everyday. Our history is colorful, beautiful and shows how everything (good or bad) molded us into the country we are now.

Also, even if I'm an economics major. I don't feel like an economist yet. I'm not saying I have to be part of monetary policies or putting up tariffs to be legit. But the part of economics I liked, was the part of researching and being non-profitable (which can be disappointing for some). It's the part where i got to go out and meet different people, and see how we're not limited to be a certain way cause of class. I saw stuff that transcended through classes: dreams, hope, love, faith. These are the things that are supposed to be important. I hope we never lose sight of them. =)

But i got to cut this rambling short, I have to get to work

There are bound to be a large number of store liquidation sales this year, but you'd be smart to skip them.

Circuit City<ticker type="EQUITY" symbol="CC" exchange="NYSE" primary="NO"></ticker> recently announced it had hired liquidators to sell off its inventory. While you might think this is a great time to find deals, the truth is that liquidation sales offer few bargains. Keep these facts in mind before spending your hard-earned money.

You don't need it: If you heard about a liquidation sale where a company is selling some type of gadget and now you find yourself wanting one, you did exactly what the liquidator wanted you to do. If you really wanted the gadget, it would have been on your list, after all.

The first rule of smart shopping is that, if you don't need it, it's not a bargain no matter what the price. Liquidation sales are a good way to convince yourself that a want is within reach, and therefore a need.

The prices aren't that good: When people hear the words "liquidation sale," they assume the main purpose is to get rid of merchandise quickly, meaning cheaply. While moving the inventory is one goal, it's not the primary goal. The main point is to make money.

Since "liquidation sales" usually last several months -- Circuit City's will last till the end of March -- there is no incentive to slash prices from the outset. In fact, most liquidators will actually raise prices to full retail or a token 10% off because they know the store will be packed with people. That means prices at liquidation sales are often higher than you could have gotten at the store before it went into bankruptcy. Those "75% off or more" discounts that you are imagining won't arrive until the final week of the liquidation sale -- a time when anything you would really want will already be long gone. <story_page_break />

If you still feel you must go to the liquidation sale because you are sure prices will be good, do your homework. Know the prices at area rivals and online. This way, you'll know what a good deal is.

There are limited forms of payment: The way you can pay for merchandise at a liquidation sale can be limited. Checks, coupons and gift cards probably won't be accepted. You probably can't use credit cards in the final weeks, when large discounts come into play.

All sales are final: Since the store is going out of business, sales are usually final. If you have trouble with that big-screen TV or gadget, the store isn't going to help you. Especially for expensive items, it may not be worth the risk if you are only saving a few dollars.

If you do decide to buy at a liquidation sale, see that the item is in good working condition. Plug it in to make sure it works and open the box to be certain all the pieces are there. You need to take extra care since you won't be able to return it. Fully understand the return policies and any terms of the sale before you buy. If you can, use a credit card to get protections.

There's no knowledgeable help: The goal of liquidators is to sell, not to help you decide which of several similar gadgets would best suit your needs. All staff will likely be working the cash registers, and any floor help may have little to no knowledge with technical questions. Basically, there will be no service of any kind, so unless you know exactly what you want, liquidation sales are not the place to try and find something.

Good deals can usually be found at the end of a liquidation sale, but only on items that aren't in high demand. Don't be fooled into thinking that, just because a business is being sold through liquidation, it guarantees a good price. Liquidation sales carry a lot of disadvantages. Or better yet, skip the liquidation sales altogether and spend your money on things that are on your need list.

Am watching GG when inspiration suddenly struck!

Three words. I-LOVE-YOU.

You have to get past the "I" aspect to get to the LOVE and the YOU aspect. And then you have to learn about the LOVE part before you think of the I and the YOU together. :)

lol, im tryna be witty.:) because it's raining and im hella excited for the pig roast tomorrow. Lechon for noche buena. yum yum! <3. and GG is giving me the happy vibes lol.

I'll see my cousins again, and we'll all be young for the last time. Next year, I'm gonna be "included" with the adults. EHK.

And apparently, will have to be the one giving gifts na. hahaha. Time for everything it seems.

In a semi sour mood because i have a commander right here at home who acts like a drill sergeant and inspects everything i do, from the cooking, to the dishes, to the laundry. And finds me totally incapable of driving. My goodness! I've been driving since i was 17, that's 3 years and yes, it's not a lifetime. But give me a little breathing space please.

And yeah, Art is not a good release right now. Because I'm messing up my colors because i want to stick to blues and blacks. So i need to move up and play one of the sports just to get things out of my system. :)

On the risk of sounding horribly and inexcusably honest, here goes.

Every girl dreams that guys who've left them in the past would come back running, on their knees and begging for forgiveness, saying that they've never stopped thinking about them and all that cheezy fashiznit that makes up the romantic movies that we watched.

But honestly? You've asked to come back, well you didn't ask. You just came comming back, as if, nothing happened in the first place. And if i were to invent a conversation between us two, I would say to hell with it. I'm alright with friendship, but i can't be as close as you want me to be. Even if you need me. Because I don't trust you.

I don't trust you with my heart. I don't trust you with the truth. And i don't trust you to have my back when i need it.

Some girls may settle for it. But i'm not one of them. Because I am averse to user-friendly people. Schooled a lot in that aspect.
