Pope Benedict was preaching in Sydney, Australia, criticizing our decadent modern culture. And to some extent he is right. Of course, one doesn't need to be a pope to realize a lot of things in our society are wrong, from the promotion of sex and violence to the use of drug and alcohol, as well as the destruction of our environments. Anyone with enough common sense knows that.

The problem however is that we know what's going on in his mind. It's not just about the abuses, it's not just the excess of sex and violence, it's them as they are. He and his devote followers wish there was none of this left and we would just just get entertained with the word of God and other merry religious crap. Which—still with enough common sense—is something no one wants.

Among other things, he said:

"I ask myself, could anyone standing face to face with people who actually do suffer violence and sexual exploitation explain that these tragedies, portrayed in virtual form, are considered merely entertainment?"

Well... righto, what's your point Benedicto ? You mean it's like religion, trying to lecture people while it's responsible for so many wars, so many atrocities in human history—some of the worst—that still go on today with those pedophilic priests ? Might be wise to consider suppressing religion first then, it could hinder global violence and outrageous and repugnant sexual deviancies.

I've got to write about that thing somewhere, it's too absurd not to be shared. But where ? It didn't seem right to send it to the people I know, they wouldn't really care, and then I remember I have this blog ! Oh, sweet, lovely, unused blog. One day I should really try to make something out of you, maybe not a man but at least a proper website.

It's been almost a year since I wrote something here, oops. I'll destroy this blog and rebuild something new - and hopefully build it right this time. I just need first to sort things out and also wait to get my new computer back, which current status is: "lost".

Fucking imbeciles

Like if the damn light that makes me feel like Al Pacino's character in Insomnia ("Will Dormeur", such a stupid name I still remember it) wasn't enough, those morons from HOAS/YTV have to put a guy with a shovel under my window at 7:30.

I went to bed at 4 am, and therefore slept for only three hours and half, how could I guess those goddamn imbeciles find important to clean some stupid fucking stones at 7:30 ? I'm not kidding, that's what they're doing. They sent a guy with a shovel who removes the dry soil around the stones that border the houses, because those stones no one care about were not visible anymore, buried under the dirt.

And who cares ? Who the fuck cares about not seeing the stupid stones ? The fucking imbeciles who designed that place anyway, put the stones below ground level along a path made of soil and peebles. So of course, throughout the year, with the rain and mud from the melting snow, it ends up being covered up.

But, since those stones are placed on every side, they're also just below the letterboxes, which here are located outdoors. That means whenever you go check your mail, you put your foot there. And what kind of a fucking retard would design a place so that you have to set your foot on some stones rather than on flat ground ? Stones like this just call for a sprain ankle, they're fucking useless !

Nature had just done the job well, covering up those goddamn useless stones that some fucking smartass designer who knows no shit about intelligent housing design had decided to put there. Thanks to HOAS fucking superior cleverness though, the same cleverness that makes them do some completely useless chore every month instead of doing the few simple and cheap things they never bother to do, this had to be undone and undone at 7:30.

It seems now, after 30 minutes, the damn noise has finally stopped. In other words, they needed to send someone that early for the sake of saving us and let us see the stones ! Arrrh, fucking morons ! I go back to bed. Good, fucking, morning.

My Kingdom for a Computer

I so badly need a new computer, this one is seriously driving me insane. It's unbearable how much it stalls, and freezes, and loads, I can't even think of an instance in real life that would make the degree of annoyance it provokes understandable.

This day was shitty anyway. I finally could eat something a bit more filling than what I've been eating in the past days but it just made me feel terrible the whole afternoon. I wonder if this is the effect of feeling full after several days not eating corretly.

And this goddam answers.com site ! Every time it loads on one tab and I'm typing something in another one, it slows down everything to the point characters display a long time after I typed them and I can't interrupt the damn process. I just have to watch all my characters appear one by one in slow motion and then only can I stop the damn loading on the other site.

My brain feels completely messed up today, just like my English. I'd better stop then, the main reason for writing anyway was just to see something else than this stupid entry I wrote last time. It was funny at that time, I was bloody tired, but seeing it every time is just plain annoying.

Nonsense & Sensibility

I came here to erase some spam comments (why the hell would I like to buy diamond earrings ?) and modify my link list, so why not write an entry too, it's been a while. I haven't posted lately because I've been too busy and tired, which is good news because this blog is pointless, a real waste of time, both for you and me, mostly for me, there's no you, I guess no one is reading this. Good, I'd feel sorry to waste your time.

Anyway... (no wonder no one is reading when I manage to be so efficiently boring, if the art of being boring was remunerated, I'd be the Bill Gates of boredom, Boredom Vista, to be released in 2007... oh no, I'm doing it again ! Perhaps it is because I'm tired that I digress so easily to write utter nonsense).

Anyway ! (but actually there's a point to all this, it helps me to relax (a bit); nonsense has a relaxing effect (I almost wrote laxative, go figure) and there's nowhere else where I could write nonsense, because I need to be (relatively) serious in other places where I write because I interact with people. Plus, here I can put as many brackets as I want (((or almost))) and it seems I like brackets. The last reason is that it helps me to practise writing in English though I should practise that in Samurai Nintendo instead, the long list of reviews I have to write hasn't changed since last summer).

Anyway !!! (it seems much easier to write nonsense when one is tired, very relaxing indeed but I guess I should stop now because I had something else a bit more relevant to say I think... what was it ?)

ANYWAY !!!! I've been busy coding mostly. And interestingly, once again, my preference has shifted to another project. After writing the last entry about things I should change in that new site, I lost both motivation and confidence in that project. The problem is that I've bought the domain name so I should still hurry to release the site.

Instead I had a sudden and real need to work on the Chat site. I had several ideas on how to improve it and I felt I too had improved since the original version, both in terms of programmation and organization, and what I had learnt could well benefit the site. Now my code is clearer and better organized I think. Presentation is really crucial for your code otherwise you have no idea what you're doing, especially when you stop working on it for some time (as little as one day is enough for me to feel completely lost when I check again lines of code I wrote).

I kept the core of the chat mechanism and design but rewrote all the rest and now I'm adding features. The change log is going to be pretty long when the site is finished. I'm already beta testing some functions, somewhere, but there's still some time to go before it's ready. Perhaps 50-60% is completed, then I'm going to revamp completely the splash and information pages. It's practically going to look like a brand new site when it's finished. I will also buy the domain name and all this (currently known as Chat 2.0) should be ready, hopefully, in April.

I also have a couple of projects going on for 1UP, one should be revealed soon. So basically my time currently is shared between Chat 2.0, the new project and 1UP. I haven't done anything new for Luomu.org, I almost stopped checking the site, it just doesn't receive any attention at all, and it's going to be much harder than I expected to make it attractive. As for Samurai Nintendo, the main focus lately has been the server problems, while keeping a dreamy eye on the excellent stats. I should definitely work on this site too, some big Nintendo Revolution announcements are around the corner and I have nothing ready yet, just the good old GC site.

That's what you get when you have too many sites, never enough time for every one of them and you have to decide which one needs your time the most. Hopefully I'm not making the wrong choices.

Money, money

I'm going to be cryptic again since I don't want to tell what my next site is about, not just yet. It's not of importance, because it's not in English anyway, this time it'll be only in French and, hopefully, Finnish, respectively for people living in those specific countries.

This morning I realized I had to make one major change in it, and that it would require some rethinking and redesign. I need to modify the baseline because of some "legal" facts I had not seriously taken into account. I don't want my site to sound for what it's not (a gambling site) so I have to remove some elements, mostly replace gambling-related words, to be sure I'm not misundertood.

That's the first time I need to do something like this and that's both interesting and frustrating. Interesting because it helps to define my site better, at least I know exactly what I'm doing with it now, frustrating because I have to choose my wording carefully and I feel I'm censoring myself by fear of the law. I think I have quite a honorable purpose with this site (besides the fact I'm trying to make money...) but this would probably be a worthless argument for the tax service wanting to take the little money I could make from it.

At least Internet encourages small businesses and entrepreneurship and permits what would be impossible in the actual world. Too bad it's busy with sites using the same unscrupulous methods found out there.
