first of all, the guy who destroyed most of the Filipinos lives: Ondoy.

this saturday nga this storm came and ruined everyone's houses, properties, etc. flood was everywhere and the rain kept on pouring causing it to get higher. luckily here in our area, there were only minor damages and electricity was only cut for a few hours. but cable was down for two days so we only relied on our radio and on internet.

for a while i was so scared of looking at pictures or even videos of this tragedy. but when i finally got to watch some news, i was like .......... my heart was really crashed by those scenarios. things like heavy rainfalls and floods often do happen here in the philippines but not as devastating and large as this. several areas were greatly affected that even those who has great capacity in life can't do anything. as my mom kept on saying, "kahit yung mga mayaman walang magawa. wala din yung mga bahay nila kahit malalaki, lubog pa din sa baha."

yup noone was able to escape him. noone also expected his effect in our lives. but could i really blame him for all those damaged houses? those ruined cars? the flood that took so many lives? i know it's a little inappropriate now and some may not like this. but maybe this is also our fault. it's not the government, or the rain but "US". this could be the effect of what we do to our environment. i suddenly remembered the movie The Happening or The Day After Tomorrow or the upcoming film 2012. maybe this was a sign. maybe these things are really happening or could really happen. a wake up call perhaps? scary but it's time we think of it.

but what i love is that this event brought all of us together once more. people all over the world were really nice in sending their concerns and help to us. i feel really grateful to them. can't it just be like this forever? one world?

right now, i'm scared of what may happen next. we still could not contact one of our friends, i just hope he's fine. all i could just do right now is hope and pray for the best and start doing something in my own little ways.

second, a topic that's very unrelated to my first one : Plagiarism talks between YG Entertainment and SonyATV

some KPOP lovers may be well aware of this. YG Entertainment was recently warned by SonyATV about their promotions of some of their songs which are allegedly plagiarized from some of their artists/producers/composers. last week, YG and Teddy has finally made a statement regarding this and i totally agree with what they had to say:

"To the makers of music, the word ‘plagiarism’ represents the worst honour. Even if the composers say ‘it isn’t plarigiarized’, it remains as unhealed deep wounds to those involved. In case of “Heartbreaker”, the other publishing companies owning 90% of the rights have remained silent, whereas Sony, owning 10% of the rights, have released their “official statement” on the media." -YG

>exactly. it was a little harsh to say such things. it definitely hurts the composer's ego to say this about them and their works most especially when it was indirectly stated immediately exposing it to the media. actually in any case, when someone speaks badly of you, wouldn't it cut you deeply and leave an ugly scar?

"If protecting the rights of publishers is Sony ATV’s job, you should also take a note that other publishers’ dignity and rights are just as important." - YG

>they are not the only person/company in this world. they may be well-known or large but we all have the same rights. we see their intention of protecting their company, but did they even consider others? they are in the same industry, they should have thought of what it feels like to be instantly judged.

"Because Sony ATV released such rash public statements, YG and G-Dragon had to receive more sarcastic remarks and offensive responses, but we decided not to release our statement towards Sony ATV through the media. It is because we respected your company, NOT because we did not have anything to say." - YG

>RESPECT. they should learn that. YG definitely did the right thing. big or small we should practice having respect for each other. directly going to the media is not the best move when resolving such problems. what if they end up losing this battle, wouldn't it be worse in their part?

>you can't instantly say that one thing is plagiarized. in this time, i think so many songs have already been written. some songs may sound similar but it doesn't mean that they copied one another. maybe we have actually heard a song from our childhood or somewhere and in the case of writers/composers they unconsciously think of this and puts everything together.

i may have been a little biased here but i just really agree with YG and his thoughts. i think the issue here is the Asian Entertainment vs. International Entertainment. this plagiarism problem had been around for so long. so many songs sound alike and probably more songs are actually guilty of plagiarism but most cases just passed. this may have gotten big because of the fact that lately YGE songs are topping the charts, slowly becoming popular. and why is it a big issue when an Asian song sounds like an International song but not when it is the other way around?

i just wish these would all be over soon and Sony ATV could resolve this with the YGE without involving the media. hehe.. let's all just enjoy MUSIC!

i really loved it!!! it was so much fun watching it. it touched my heart and at the same time made me smile. i loved the story, how it was brought to life and everything. by watching this movie, i realized the happiness of a person do not depend on the grandest things. often, we find it on the simplest things or events that come into our lives. and adventures are more fun when you are with the one you love and care about. i just simply love it!!!!

oh! oh! i also love the short film at the beginning of the movie. it was so touching..... *sigh*

.......... i don't know what to write anymore. hehe.. i've been a bum here in our house for a few weeks now and i still haven't finished what needs to be done. what's wrong with me?!!?! hahaha..

i guess that's it for now.

still, i am proud to say: "i am one of them." hahaha...

now, i'm super addicted to everything about them. from their music to their styles(most especially this one).

their songs. their mini album is just on repeat on my player and i have already downloaded all their videos on my phone. pinapatos ko even the remix versions of IDC they only performed on shows. hehe.. plus i also love how they perform. ang galing lang nila!

clothes/style. well, i know they have a stylist and all, but i still love its outcome on the image of the girls. kaya ngayon, i seriously want to go shopping and try their looks.   unfortunately wala naman reason for me to go shopping. usually kasi we/i shop pag may occassion or holidays lang. minsan pag may nakita lang na maganda with a good price we buy it. but in this case, wala naman e. wala naman ako paggagamitan and i still have loads of clothes! this calls for my great creativity!! haha.. kidding! i just love recreating styles with the stuffs i already have and giving it a touch of my own style.

2ne1 hwaiting!!

anyways, i was watching the news earlier. there was this part about a Japanese guy who was at the funeral of our former President Cory Aquino. i never saw him during that time. maybe i was just paying attention to people i know or the immediately family. sorry! apparently, he knew their family because he was one of the reporters who were with Ninoy when he went back here in the Philippines. he witnessed that incident and even helped in giving out necessary information to solve the case. ever since then, i think he became friends with the Aquino family.

at the funeral, they showed that he was crying so hard. when he was interviewed he had nothing to say but praises for the late Ninoy and Cory Aquino.

i just can't help but be moved by this. so many lives were really influenced by President Cory and Ninoy Aquino. they touched not only the Filipinos but other races, other countries as well. it felt weird at first to see this guy but later it just felt good.

maybe there really is hope for all of us. maybe one day every one of us, every country will be united and will be at peace. no more fighting, no more competition, no one is on top or bottom - we will all be at the top.

just one world.

First Movie: THE PROPOSAL

i was able to watch this flick together with Jan (my college friend). she invited me this monday. sort of our movie date since we're both loveless and lonely. hahaha.. joke! anyways, i actually enjoyed this one. i was not really familiar with the plot of the movie so, i did not know if i was that excited to see it. but i was quite intrigued by the unlikely pairing of Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. well, we know that Bullock has been in the business for quite some time and sort of (sorry for the term) old-ish and Reynolds is still a little young. so i wondered how that will work. hehe.. well, i think it turned out okay. i had fun watching these two. i really felt the awkwardness at first then how their relationship developed. it was another one of those feel good movies i love seeing to just unwind. love it! although it somehow left me feeling envious. wishing for that someone to come! hehe.. *peace* oh! may i add. Bullock and Reynolds have such hot bodies! another point to be envy of.

Second Movie: G.I. JOE RISE OF THE COBRA

i know it's only August 6, a day early from its actual showing. but malls have advanced screenings right? so that's why i was able to watch it already. yesterday, we were bored to death in our apartment. so we decided to go out and maybe watch some movie. when we got there, they actually have an advanced screening of this. how lucky are we?!?! so we bought our tickets right away since our arrival was just on time. hehe... sorry if i'm a little excited and innocent on this matter. first time!

whenever my sister would tell me how bad she wanted to see this movie, i was always like... ok.  i am usually not into action stuff. it would depend on who is in it, how it was done and story. (what is wrong with me?!!? why am i not liking anything?!?! haha.. )so while watching it, i was surprised to actually like it. i loved every action scenes. it was greatly done. it was fun, intriguing, exciting. i just totally loved it. and it made me realize how scary technology and super smart people are; the things they could do to everything and everyone.

aside from the movie itself, i also fell in love with this guy!

BYUNG HUN LEE as STORM SHADOW

to be honest, i don't know for others but he is not the most handsome Korean for me. sorry. and i never noticed him before when he was i think married to/was with Song Hae Kyo even his acting skills. but in this one, i actually have to praise him. he looked really mean and skilled with his weapons. i'm not sure if he was able to play Storm Shadow as he is supposed to be but it was really good for me. and may i say, he has such a nice bod! hahaha... i don't know if i will like him in other roles that he has played or will play, but i am just so in love with him in this one!

yes. last friday me and some of my classmates, mostly the ones i'm with in Baguio, thought of going to Balay(sort of bar/restaurant near UST ;D) and just hang out. the friends of Trish's boyfriend joined us at first. we then had a bucket of beer, a pitcher of Kamikazeand another bucket of beer. they passed shots a little fast. turned out they had to leave early because they have another commitment.

later it was just me and my classmates. we ordered a pitcher of Apo Lakay and a plate of onion rings. during that time, secrets were spilled. i blurted almost everything in front of them. i'm not even sure how much i have said and what those are or if i was telling the truth. anyways, after a while i learned how to smoke. well, they taught me and i was able to smoke one stick. i think i was not myself anymore at that point.

so we decided to go home. Edj took me home. on the way, that was where i started really losing it. i started blurting out like how no one likes me and still have no boyfriend. also according to Edj, i kept on saying "I WANT SUSHI!" then i also threw up and farted really loud and as well as SUPER STINKY!! haha.. i'm not really sure of the full detail but it was really embarassing!!! my gosh!!! lucky for me Edj was patient enough to bring me home. i think it's going to be a little awkward in front of him. haha..

so that night, i kept on throwing up and got an upset stomach.

LESSONS LEARNED/REALIZATIONS THAT NIGHT:

- I really don't like the taste of cigarette/smoke and i will never look for it. sorry.

- Getting drunk is never good. All you get is a nasty headache and a big mess after.

so the next time we decide on doing this again, i should learn to control myself and know my limit!

it's officially a week since we started our duty at Readers' Cafe(our school's library cafe). i am actually enjoying it. ang saya lang. it's like running our own small business and we are hands on in serving and preparing our menu. hehe.. i especially love being in the afternoon shift. i just love the ambiance at night when it's dark outside, all the lights are turned on, the fountain is open and the view is great and most especially the free cakes our supervisor gives us. well, we still have i think a week and a few days until we finish/complete the 100 hours requirement. i sure am going to miss this again. just like how i miss all the Ilocano-speaking people at Baguio! haha..

i am currently obsessing about this thing called Jelly Lens! it has various lenses you can choose from. the feature of my lens is the close up. i just love using it. plus the colors are really cute!

here are some of what i've tried so far:

they turned out quite well. i just need to experiment more with my phone's features. hehe..

it felt weird. i don't know. but somehow i feel like a stranger in my own house, in our apartment, in our school.... in Manila. as we walk back to our apartment from the bus terminal, it just felt like i am a newbie or a freshman once more or like i am not from this place. yeah, probably because i have been away for quite some time. of course, a lot of things would change and come. this adjustment thing would just probably last for a few days.

it is really nice to be back but at the same time i can't help but feel a little sad, i guess. leaving baguio was a little difficult. for the whole 3 months it had been my home and i guess it grew on me especially the people i encountered along the way. they were all nice to us and it had been a real fun experience.

i'd miss the cold weather..

i'd miss all the employees who handled us..

i'd miss all the adventures/misadventures..

i'd miss the horses..

i'd miss BCC..

i'd just simply miss everything. *sigh*

i wish i could blog every detail of my 3 month practicum in Baguio, but unfortunately i don't have much time. we still have a duty at our school/library cafeteria for 100 hours starting tomorrow. i'm going to be a bit busy again for two weeks. good luck to us!

just watched this part on the Korean drama: Boys Over Flowers and just fell in love with this line.

i don't know. maybe i could relate to it? haha..

well, i think it has a point. we always say, especially me , how we're not ready for something. we always need time to prepare ourselves, our hearts for that. we keep on waiting and waiting for the right time. then later on we realize it's too late. the moment had already passed. it's not that we're not ready, we're just scared... always scared of the outcome.. everything.

so later today, i'm leaving for baguio for my practicum. i should be ready for this! AJA!

yeah everything's so sudden. we just received the text from our president that we will be leaving sunday last wednesday. then there were the requirements for nbi clearance and health certificate. everything happened so fast. and tomorrow evening we'll be leaving already. we are early for our supposed departure because of our professor. she was choosy as to the time of travel. she prefers night trips. haha...

anyways, this is it! it sure is scary but there's no room for this and backing out. i know i am going to miss out a lot on my vacation but after three months........ TADA!! we're done! we can do this!!
