"w00t" (yeah that IS the way it is supposed to be spelled) was announced as Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year 2007. It was only included in the dictionary's online database-- ergo, you won't see the word on the paper versions yet.

The word, chosen by visitors of the dictionary's website, is defined as:

1. w00t (interjection)
expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word "yay"
