http://linders1025.tabulas.com tabulas.com My Tabby (: en Thu, 05 Nov 2009 16:09:44 +0000 The Lavaman March 28th is only a few months away... so, I decided in some random moment of overconfidence that on March 28th I'd run 6, swim 1, and bike 26 miles... yes. I'm doing the Lavaman Triathlon. 

Not only do I fear that I will die & not make it past the 1 mile swim, I am pretty sure I will look like a fool doing it as well :) hoorah. 

Regardless, the most important part of this is that I'll be doing it to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. 

My training is nowhere up to par and if I were to attempt this feat right now, I would collapse, no doubt. I'll definitely track my progress towards this tri here as well as my workouts. Also, I'm targeting trying to raise $4.8k for LLS--but I hope to totally exceed that, so I'll keep a running track of my fundraising efforts as well. Any donations are much appreciated :)

words can't even begin to describe how incredibly excited I am for what is going to be the blowout of the century! currently sitting in NYC, flying to SF tomorrow morning and to Vegas Friday early afternoon. miles miles miles... omg omg omg... 

and whoa, I'm getting hella old! le sigh.

I've found myself incredibly stressed & frustrated. I feel this increased demand for my time and energy at work. This is perhaps the challenge I've been waiting for... so I've decided I'm going to wake up early every day this week and just get er done. Hopefully this renewed spirit in me will last at least until Friday. We'll see.

  • when you feel unappreciated
  • when you put your faith in someone and they prove that you were wrong to
  • when there's a serious lack of communication 
  • the truth.
I suppose you just gotta suck it up and deal, but really, I sometimes just expect more out of life and people that this is always a disappointing reality.

I can't believe such a tragedy happened on Yale campus and that such a terrible thing could happen to a seemingly awesome and kind person. The irony of it all and the things that must've gone through her fiance's head, it's just ridiculous. Can't help but feel bad for her family & friends, this is such a sad, sad event. Hopefully the Yale police find the asshole... I never thought New Haven was ever truly dangerous... but I guess in time everything changes.

oh life. perhaps I'll walk over to the gmail building and see how all the engineers are doing... I'm sure people are frantically trying to fix this.

Saturday was *fantastic* Black Eyes Peas rocked - although Fergie decided to sing 'Big Girls Don't Cry' - I'd like to note, I did not pay to watch Fergie, I wanted to see BEP. but regardless, they were fun :) Jason Mraz rocked the house. Dave was awesome - but there were a LOT of covers towards the end (and there was a fun part where BEP came out on stage with them). Overall, though, all the bands on Saturday rocked the house. 

Friday was OK - Pearl Jam was really good and Incubus surprised me. 

Sunday was disappointing. With no Beastie Boys it was already looking pretty sad. Modest Mouse wasn't as good in concert as I was hoping for. The best show on Sunday was Band of Horses - they were amazing and they played after M.I.A. (who TOTALLY sucked) so it just made them even better. But yeah, M.I.A. is tone deaf or something... I was incredibly disappointed. Everyone started walking away when she sang because not only was she off the ENTIRE concert, but she had some chic on stage who had the most annoying voice and kept yelling for nothing... and then they brought out these ridiculous horns that only bothered me more. I recommend *never* seeing M.I.A. in concert... she needs the digital editing that comes w/ a recording company... I would venture to say she's worse than Ashley Simpson live. That's pretty bad.

  • ice cold sweet tea (& fried chicken?)
  • recognizing a familiar face in a random place
  • free drinks and appetizers because you know the staff at a restaurant :)
  • warm cornbread (made by my shoda)
  • a phone call from my bro
  • dessert at 1am
  • climbing out of bed and climbing back in minutes later to find the blanket is still warm :)
  • hot chocolate outside with a light breeze
  • the smell of honeysuckle
  • sitting on a yoga ball
  • 3 day weekends
  • silly text messages
  • FRIDAYS
