without you, it's just a waste of time

it's been several weeks since you moved to another office. it's been several weeks of asia shift and it has been a lot tiring for me. it's easy to get lost inside a looong task... i don't know if i have started to make a direction for my life or i have just been lost in the flow of things. it's easy to get lost track of time when there's so many things to do. even my weekends have lots of plans in them. i find myself feeling disappointed during check points that meet me in the eye saying "hey you, you have several things planned out. stop wasting time and start focusing on what you want." i have finally told you my secret fear, my secret regret. but im still firm on my word. it's just something in the present, i know that whatever we have now will never be in the future.

i hope i know what im doing. i miss you.

we're young, we might as well have all the fun while we can

i can't wait to watch '500 days of summer.' it seems such a pretty movie, something that would tug your heartstrings as well as make you remember all the familiar memories. yesterday was unexpected... i guess it's more fun when you aren't worrying about typecasts, and definitions. i like it, when you enjoy just the company of a person without minding them terms. watching the trailer of '500 days of summer' i could understand perfectly what summer was trying to say... "we're young, we might as well have all the fun while we can." it's such a tragedy though, i feel warped since i know at the tip of my brain that our story is doomed to die. we would just stay friends in the end. and this is like a double-edged sword: on one hand, im carefree since i know it's just the best way to enjoy the moment, on the other hand, i think im keeping myself from enjoying our afternoons too much because i know ill miss you. ill miss you... and it's not a nice feeling because there's no good reason for it, just prejudice from other people. not enough reason, but forceful enough. i guess id always remember these afternoons. and the weekends.

People moving all the time
Inside a perfectly straight line
Don't you wanna curve away?
When it's such…
It's such a perfect day
It's such a perfect day

Now the sky could be blue
I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time...

Mademoiselle, mes salutations les plus cordiales

On Tuesday, I was reminded by God who I could have been now. While browsing for cookbooks in Powerbooks Shangrila, I bumped into Joe, a merit scholar for physics. He's going to be attending Wharton UPenn by September and when he asked about the plans I had before... I reminded myself of who I could have been today... I could have been studying now in Paris. and so I reopened my acceptance letter from Universite Paris Sud 11 and I felt a burst of deep emptiness. I wanted to bring myself back to three months ago when I was still deciding what to do in my immediate future. I felt disappointed that I left everything away--calculating adjoint matrices, understanding dirac notations, reading about the structure of things... They feel so up there in the sky so far away from where real life happens. I have to say goodbye for good to what could have been. Im really sad about this.

the weekend

i think im starting to only update when it's the weekend, much more interesting anyway. yesterday, i went red-box-ing with neil, arn, char & mark. then spent the rest of the afternoon in timezne, figuring out what to do and take a picture of us (since mark will be leaving us huhuhu). the boys were kind enough to escort me to serendra where i met achi ellyn. i had dinner with ellyn and her friends at uncle moe's. they serve really yummy kebabs! especially the fish fillet that ellyn ordered... i should definitely go back there! we went to rica's for her despedida and the party was relaxing and fun since it was soo long ago since i met dentzen, bugz, giselle, aa, rica and migs. it was just weird since i drank so much, it was a miracle that i didnt throw up (maybe the one shot per 10 minutes helped). i had i think about 10 colorful yummy shots and did the fancy ones (flaming shot & gas chamber?). i of course became red for a while then i sobered up. i was still sane when we went home. and we took so much pictures in the photobooth. >.< will upload them soon as they have it in the website. suffice to say, i really had fun meeting new people (ellyn's friends) and getting back in touch with r12. :-)

never again

Next time I will not go home super late when Im already up 4:30am. I struggled to keep awake driving home last night, I swear I had my eyes already shut every few seconds and my alertness level was down to negativity. It was really hard to drive home. I am really thankful nothing bad happened. Thank you. Thank you. Never again shall I do this kindof adventure, it's too risky.

on other things... im really sad that it's not the same anymore, the way things are now is just well awkward but in other ways, beautiful and exciting.

simply happy

this is probably one of the weekends i would like to have again. last two weeks' weekend was already happy but this week's was just simply fun. (last last week, i was supposed to meet patrick and danell with maybelle at shangrila, but the boys didnt show up so instead may and i had some fun eating and eating until we went to fete de la musique at metrowalk and met jules there!) so anyway for saturday, i met charlene and neil at ayala station. we were to try commuting and have an occular visit at two world square, our future site of stress. we got lost along the way haha we didnt get off the jeepney early enough and so we had to walk for quite a distance to two world square. after trying to get in the office with our IDs, we went to glorietta riding a taxi (since it was really scorching) and had lunch at burger king. lunch was fun :) burger king's ice cream float is yummy and mushroom swiss never fails to fill my stomach with glee. we watched ice age 3 in one of the coldest cinemas ive been to. hahaha enjoyed it really with char and neil. i then went to ivan's to have a macaron making afternoon with ken, aidz and ivan.

it was a first for all of us to make macarons and although it was an epic fail, we managed to have some pointers learned: 1) just put a small thin circle for the cookies (as they will get fat and rise to a cute two layered crunchy goodness), 2) 170 degrees is not enough, make it 200 degrees, 3) do not use unsweetened chocolates, theyre too bitter (i still cant forget patrick's reaction LoL). after a tiring bake session, we decided to just have take out dinner at ivan's (from mann hann). we were almost complete with kate and bea going MIA. i wasnt able to stay long, but it was really nice for us to meet and hang again after 2 months of hectic schedules. i love logkada :) and i enjoyed my drive back home -- no traffic and smooth sailing.

for today, we stayed home (shoti's in south africa). my sister curled my long hair today though. i guess she was feeling kikay today :). and we had a good family dinner at gloria maris shabu shabu and the best part of the day? i had lychee shake for dinner. woohoo!!! shux, i love lychee shake. and i really enjoyed this weekend of hanging with friends and family.
