Finally got to watch

FIDO is actually one of those feel good movies.. only with zombies.  In a parallel universe, radiation from space made the dead come to life, which was bad.  Hence, came the zombie wars.  Fortunately the lumbering undead, those many in number were killed off by the the superior living force.  As with most zombie movies, a shot in the head does the trick.  Because radiation is still ever present in athe atmosphere, one of the leading corporations, Zomcom, fences the living human community and hands out colras to domesticate zombies for slavery of the general public.  You can now buy your very own zombie slave to do your beck and call.  Story revolved around little Timmy who made friends with his zombie, and named him Fido.

The plot was simple, the story fun.  Not much in the blood and gore department.  Not compared to the other zombie movies previously watched, but it's alot funny.  Oldish set makes it pretty quaint.

CEMETERY MAN stars Rupert Everett as the cemetery caretaker, and together with a mentally-handicapped friend, Gnaghi, they kill off the undead with shots or shovels on the head.  Both fell in love with a zombie.  Delamorte (Everett) is forever haunted by the memories of "she", the girl he loved so many times in the movie.  It's one of those funny, strangely romantic (girl has penis phobia, he asks a doctor to cut his off), and a little sad movie with alot of death, guns, sex, and of course, zombies.

And you know what's another great stop from UK?  Amsterdam!  The family plans to stay in London for about 2 weeks.  I'm sure they'd want to take a break from the gloomy London skies, and get some city breaks in amsterdam.  Amsterdam, home to Rembrant, Van Gogh and Ann Frank.  The place reeks of charm and quaintness and art.

One of the places I would surely visit would be the Museumplein (Museum Square), made up of the Rijkmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, House of Bols Cocktail & Genever Experience and Coster Diamonds, among other things.

The thing is, there are actually some online places where you can get amsterdam city breaks for a relatively small fee.  I checked how much it would cost for one person to go there from London and stay for three nights, and saw that the cheapest rate sums up to £604 (around 1,000 USD).  That already covers both flight and accommodations for a bed and breakfast hotel.

Goes to show, amsterdam short breaks should really be a part of your UK travel.

This sudden interest began one night on my way home, while in the fx.  No, i did not sit beside a zombie, nor did the guy beside me smell like a flesh-eater.  I was minding my own business when my eyes drifted on the ipod screen of the guy beside me.  He was watching a movie where there's a bunch of people looking military-like inside trucks being followed by crows.  Then all of a sudden, crows started attacking the group of people.  Then, one of the guys stood on top of the truck and blasted fire all over the crows.  Fire was suddenly made bigger by some girl who stared at it.  Knowing nothing except that description, I narrated the whole thing to stupex, and he told me it was prolly resident evil 3.  Danggit!  Boy was right!  So off we went to Metrowalk, and bought all 3 dvds.

Flirting comes in two ways: verbal and non-verbal.

Verbal flirting would be the usual dropping of lines we use to let the other person know we’re into them.  You know, something along the lines of, “How you doing?”  Do these lines actually work except maybe for Joey?

While this is important, I think most of the game is all about the body language.  I tried checking on sites to know what they say exactly about this, and all of them suggest ways on how you’re supposed to take a clue.  Let me give you the two most common flirting styles.

First and most common is always eye contact.  Look, but don’t stare, they say.  While looking may be cute, staring would be creepy.  Maybe it helps if you count 1 to 3 then look away?  Seriously, though, when is the cutoff for looking?  How do you know you’ve gone beyond look to the stare part?  Also, helpful hint, stare with a squint would probably mean other person has really bad eyesight.  I’m just saying in case you’re that obtuse.

The second is touching.  No, I don’t mean the creepy touching you associate with dirty old men, just a few light touches here and there while you’re talking.  I think I exaggerate on this part though.  I’m a little touchy when I talk, I slap/hit you kind of touchy actually.  So I’m not quite sure if that falls under flirting, or abuse?

I am finally done with that vampire love story by Stephanie Meyer, and I think the whole audio thing totally ruined it for me, cos I sortof enjoyed Breaking Dawn, which I read.  Main reason I guess would be that when I'm reading, I could skip the annoying parts.  I obviously can't do the same with the audio book.  This is actually the same reason why I don't listen to podcasts nor watch vlogs, they're harder to filter.

By the way, I used the term "enjoyed" very loosely here.  I was curious about the popularity of the thing, but it read like a fairy tale.  An 800 plus pages fairy tale, with a very annoying princess.

A few months ago, possibly June or July (I forgot), I heard about this reunion concert by Eraserheads on August 30.  The buzz was that it was going to be a free for all concert in open grounds.  There were also rumors that each member were paid php10M each just to get their act together (pure exaggeration, somebody said it's only php1M).  Then there was also talk of how this event would be sponsored by a cancer stick factory, and event goers need to be at least 18 years old, and be a member of a list to get in.  Then there were other rumors who said you need to bring 20 packs of their brand to get in. 

The thing is, everything is still a rumor.  There were no official word out yet, but most everyone I know is excited.

Now the official word, according to Odysseylive, is that the reunion concert has been cancelled, because the Department of Health refuses to issue a permit. 

Not sure with how this thing works, but they need a permit from DOH to hold a concert?

In one of the forums, it was said that the tobacco company would be charged with a criminal offense for sponsoring such an event. 

All this in accordance with RA 9211, which stated:

Section 26. Ban on Sponsorships. - Beginning 1 July 2008, cigarette and tobacco companies are hereby prohibited from sponsoring any sport, concert, cultural art or event, as well as individual and team athletes, artists, or performers where such sponsorship shall required or involve the advertisement or promotion of any cigarette or tobacco company, tobacco product or tobacco use, name, logo or trademarks and other words, symbols, designs, colors or other depictions commonly associated with or likely to identify a tobacco product; Provided further, That no manufacturer may register a tobacco brand name as a company name after the passage of this Act.

Now this hoopla with the DOH has been circulating for weeks now.  For the fans sake, I do hope someone else decide to sponsor this event, beacuse obviously the eheads aren't doing this for the music, nor the fun; this is strictly money talk.

After all the hype, it would be too bad if people do get disappointed.

Chuck Bartowski is a twenty something computer guy working as part of the Nerd Herd in Buy More.  A Stanford kick-out who had the (mis)fortune of receiving a program that saved top secret government information in his brain.  So of course, being the holder of important information, he needed protection.  He was assigned with an agent from CIA, Sarah, and an agent from NSA, Casey.  For those who know Firefly, Casey used to play Jayne.  His cahracter here is pretty much the same: the muscle; only much, much better than Jayne will be.

Why I like him?  Cos he's nerdy and shy and sweet and funny and seems perpetually lost but very bright.  The episodes are a lot of fun.  Light, fast-paced, and interesting.

Well, if you're still not too sold with Chuck, maybe she'll spice up your interest:
