Been so long. The entire blogsophere seemed to have gone ahead the entire year 2007. Can't believe it! Where have I been?

Am scratching my head for answers on that one. I know I was elsewhere but it will take a long entry to explain everything. Still, the most important thing is all's good good good. Plus there's a bright, wonderful direction ahead for Artcebu and everything else I love. Watch out.

Fruition

Congratulations to Maharlika and Artcebu for a wonderful exhibit opening last March 30, 2007!!!

"Fruition", featuring several women artists from different areas of the country, was an International Women's Month special. The organizers decided to hold it at end of March to close the month with something memorable. I wish I was able to see this. I was in Singapore at this time, but hearing the organizers' happy voices from the phone was enough to know it was very successful.

Here's a peek into my bedroom and at what I'm getting into this Valentine's Day. My themed bed set, courtesy of Cebu Designs!

Isn't it lovely? You can hug, cuddle, kiss, do all sorts of intimate things with this wonderfully designed set and reach glorious heights this Feb 14, alone or with someone. Why worry about firing squads? This edition is our first one and hopefully we'll be doing more of this with the help of a few more designers. Look out for more exciting designs in the coming months and email me (sam_buendia@mac.com) if you want to know more.

Also, I will be uploading more later. My iPhoto is becoming a problem these days. Damnd thing hangs up on me everytime I transfer files from my camera. Must be the old files.

PODD turns 2

So this is the post I was referring in my earlier post (aha!).

We marked our 2nd anniversary with a digital art contest aimed at inspiring college students and developing their creative interests, particularly in digital art. Theme was Pigs on Parade, a timely theme for the Chinese New Year celebration.

Registration started in January 8 and ended January 24. We had a total of 72 entries, most of which were from USC, UP, CIT. All three schools offer Fine Arts as 4-year diploma course. Raki blogged about the three judges, housemate Budoy, (of Big Brother fame though only a few people know that he is an outstanding painter himself), Palmy Tudtud from National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and Janette Toral, author, top blogger and IT guru.

:: Two weeks ago while the submission was ongoing, we had several emails from people outside Cebu inquiring about the contest and why only Cebu students were allowed to join. I said because we wanted maintain our focus. I know there'll be other opportunities for them in some other organized contests, though am happy for their interest in joining ours. Maybe next year, let's see. On another note, I spoke to Palmy Tudtud of NCCA and she mentioned that they're organizing websining, also a digital art contest but on a national level. Please check link if you're interested.

I realized I could no longer post anything sensible in my other blog, (don't bother with the reasons, please...), so I decided to create this new one.

I'll try to make this as light and friendly as possible.

As for the title, it should be obvious. I have always considered myself Bisdak to the core and proud of it. Cebu to me, despite some problems with its economy (incredibly slow moving as traffic at 1 pm in Gorordo Avenue and hey, am not the only Cebuano who complains about this!) is still a GLORIOUS haven. In this blog I shall strive to tell you why.
