My First Movie Since I Arrived Last October

My friend and I met again today. It was fun because she was the one who found me in the hallway.

We went to the library and we started chatting again. I tried to help her out in her lesson because sobrang nahihirapan siya magcatch up. Umalis at umikot kami around.

We decided that we will watch a movie together. At first, gusto namin na panoorin yung Bee Movie. We then ordered some beverage just next store after the movie house. Luckily, it was Presotea! :-D I really like their store because of their nice service and English menu at the counter. She ordered the Grapefruit Juice. Both of us got shock because the sales clerk really knows how to speak English. We guess he came from the US. She was suprised also because the sales clerk asked her if she want sugar with her juice. She told me that isn't juice supposed to be natural. I just said that maybe some people would like it sweeter than just the natural juice. I wanted something different that's why I ordered Uji Matcha Milk Tea. It was kinda strong for me but still, masarap pa rin siya... :)

I somehow wanted to watch Beowulf because it was well advertised here in Taiwan. So I suggested kung pwede namin panoorin yun. The good thing the movie was not in Chinese. Hahaha.) The movie was good and somewhat okay. The location seems to revolve only in one kingdom.

After the movie, we then were really hungry by that time. Sobrang umikot kami all around Gong Guan at wala kami mahanap na masarap na murang pagkain. My friend then told me that she wanted to eat the fries of Burger King. We argued a little because I just don't want her to eat french fries. Medyo kulang kasi yung nutrients nakukuha ng body kapag french fries lang kakain niya for lunch. She really wanted to eat it kaya I just followed her.

We finished lunch and then we went around the NTU campus. Both of us were becoming tired already and we went home around 3-4pm.

It was really nice to talk to a friend who I can communciate really well. There are times that we didn't click each other that much because we have such a different background. It was also ok because we have a lot things to discuss and talk about our lives. :P

First Day of Classes

I woke up this morning kinda excited for my first day of school in a Mandarin Language Center. I had beef noodle breakfast... YUM! I thought I left the house early but what I didn't realized that I was just on time. I went in class, 5 minutes before the bell. Whew! :stressed:

I was hoping that I could meet a friend in my classroom. It is because I don't have anyone to go out here in Taipei. Because I was so lonely, I was the one introduced myself in the class. Our class was composed of 6 students. We have a Korean, Indonesian, European, Israelite, Malawe and me, a Filipino. It was really nice because we have different cultures talking to each other. ;)

The pace of the class was ok. Matagal na kasi ako na hindi nagaaral ng Chinese e kaya at first, sobrang lost ako. At the middle of the class, I started to catch up and I started to feel that this class is too easy for me. The vocabulary is really easy but I realized that my problem is my grammar. I really forgot about the single le and double le. I have also to talked more because until now I still confused and not really good at pronouncing the tones. I guess the pace of the class works for me right now. :)

At the end of the class, I asked some of my classmates what they are going to do after class. All of them were busy and had their own thing so I guess I am all alone again. I was really looking forward to having a friend/classmate over for lunch but I was really depressed that none of them are available. :'( I waited at the school for nothing and I was hoping that somebody who asked me for lunch. Nobody really invited me. :(

I was on my way home and I was really depressed because I thought that my life here in Taiwan was going to be studying in school and cleaning the house. I almost cried because I wanted to go with out and have somebody to talk to. Sigh... :(

Because I was so bored, I suddenly thought that I could stop by the bookstore for a while and hopefully buy a good keychain. I turned back and headed for the bookstore. Suddenly this girl talked to me in my suprise. I was shocked, at the same time relieved, because somebody talked to me. I said sure because I am going to look for a keychain inside that bookstore. We went our seperate ways inside that bookstore. While I was browsing for a good keychain, I thought to myself na baka meron siyang research paper at gusto niyang magsurvey na anong magiging reaction ng mga tao pag kinausap ng stranger. I was wrong. To my suprise, as I went out, she was still in the counter.

After we left the bookstore, she then told me the reason why she talked to me. She told me about this philosophy book that if you bumped to a stranger for a couple of times. It means that that stranger will be able to teach you something. She told me that she hopefully wanted to learn Japanese because I look Japanese raw. Huh? Mukha ba akong hapon? :goggle: Anyways, she was shocked that I was a Filipino. She told me that she bumped for three times and she really wanted to talk to me because of that philosophy. She also told me that my face is really familiar because I looked like her cousin. Her look is also familiar too. Hahaha! :P Naglalabuan kami sa isa't isa.

We went around and talked each other. We went to this park and after that, we went to a cafe. Her friend then called up that there is a exhibition in the world trade center about computer stuff. She really wanted to go there because she wanted to buy a laptop. I was really happy again because I am able to go out also. We went to Taipei 101 because it was near the world trade center and we had lunch there. I had this sushi lunch which was really good... YUM! She had a vegeterian sandwich that she was already kinda fed up too. (BTW, she's vegetarian) I don't know how we are going to eat outside.

We then met with her friend in Taipei 101 and we went to the world trade center. It was really crowded, I'm telling you. Sobrang daming tao at sobra dami nilang binebenta na computer stuff. We went around and asked a lot of sellers. After gathering some quotes, we then back to Taipei 101 to get the best deal. We ate snacks and finally chose a good laptop. We went back to the world trade center and finally bought the laptop. Unfortunately, the laptop was supposed to be picked up personally at this supplier store. It was alright because my friend got a good bargain. They are going to the supplier store but I told them that I was already tired. I'm going to clean the apartment pa and do a lot of errands kaya until next time ulit.

Now, I just arrived home and just cleaned my room. I am really thankful that faith has brought my friend and I together because she too was also somewhat lonely and needed a friend. I do realized that it was a miracle that I met her because I can now finally say that I have a friend in Taiwan... :)

Taiho Restaurant

Hindi ako nakaupdate yesterday because my cousins were using the computer all the time. Ok lang kasi at least nakagamit ako ngayon.

Yesterday, Friday, my other cousin that came from his school (who stayed in a domitory for few months because his school was so far) came and we went to dinner that evening. We went to this Taiho Restaurant which was really good. Grabe! Nakakatuwa talaga yung first food na nilagay namin. (This goes for every shabu-shabu restaurant.) Napakaoily ng sauce pero masarap siya... Anyways, I've ordered this weird berry juice. It's called Lao Nie. Anyways, we had a wonderful dinner in Taiho Restaurant dahil everyone is there and the food is really fresh. The waitress also is very friendly and the service is quick as well... :)

Today, I just went to Mass. Nothing much happened today. :(

Orientation

Today was the orientation for the Mandarin Language Center that I will be studying this coming Monday. I've waited almost for 1 1/2 months just for this. Wow! :goggle: The orientation went well but it was a little boring though. Unfortunately, I met nobody here and didn't made friends... :(

After the orientation, I went home and I watched TV for the whole day. Nothing much happened again...

I went a shopping spree yesterday evening. I saw this outlet that was selling out seasoned clothes in Hang Ten. I bought this Hang Ten jeans that cost 249NT (P340). Saan ka pa? Jacket that costs 299NT and a polo shirt that costs 199NT. I'm really happy when I saw a bargain sale in a brand name. There are actually some things that are cheaper here in Taiwan. :)

Must Love Cats

Just this week, parang taga alaga na ako ng pusa nila Uncle. I just accompany the cat that's all. Lately, nafefeel ko na that the cat is getting on my nerves. Never kami nagkaroon ng pusa back at home kaya hindi ko talaga alam paano gumagalaw ang utak ng pusa.

I literally love dogs. Huh? Pag pilapalis mo sa bed mo, magagalit at ayaw magpakarga. :goggle: At least yung aso pagpinaalis, aalis talaga.

Siguro nasanay lang ako for all those years nung bata pa lang ako na may aso na kami. :)

Book: Essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine

I bought this book last November 20, 2007 and I'm hooked ever since. This book is made by Asiapac Publication, a Singaporean Company. They also have a couple of books which is under them and I'm sure it will be very good like this book I read.

I choice this book kasi naalala ko yung research paper ginawa ko nung high school (Acupuncture) at college (Chinese Medicine). It costs 202NT, around P270, pero worth it naman kasi may pictures, graphs, comics and cute narration of these two little dragons that explains more about the text.

It is very easy to understand and very entertaining too. I never got bored in every page I turned. The illustrations are beautiful and they really show the traditional Chinese ways, culture and clothing.

I really recommend this book for those who want to get an idea of what Traditional Chinese Medicine is. Even though there are minor wrong spelling, this book is truly fun to read and a person can never get bored reading it. :)

PS. The cover of the book is very similar to this. I can't find the exact image in the Internet.
